Research activities

He focuses on the History of Early Modern Philosophy, in particular the Jesuit Scholastic context and its connections with 17th-century philosophy. His works deal with Descartes, Cureau de La Chambre and the Iberian Scholasticism (the Conimbricenses, Pedro da Fonseca, Francisco Suárez), as well as with the practices of elaboration and textual/pedagogic dissemination of the Scholastic philosophical and scientific knowledge.

Positions

He is the founder and the scientific coordinator of the Conimbricenses Encyclopedia (direction of Mário Santiago de Carvalho). He is the editorial and scientific coordinator of the SCOPUS e WoS Journal of Philosophy Lo Sguardo.
